Today is the 42th anniversary of her death.

The first time I watched this documentary was 7 years ago, at the age of 16.
And I was shocked.
I am not very sure why Lin is so much admired by the liberal intellectuals in today’s China. Maybe it is just because of the power of documentary that the lucky she’s story is revealed.
Thousands of stories yet buried in the Chinese history.

Four years ago, I met the director in person. Hu Jie is humble and silent.
I asked him, how can I learn how to make documentaries.
He said, no need to learn, just grab a camera, and get on the road.
That is what he did, and he is still doing.
And that is what I am doing, and will do.

For all who don’t know who is Lin, I highly recommend this documentary:
I watched this documentary a few years ago too and I still have a copy with me now.
I should share this with Monami.
